Frank Shultz in the Spanish American War

I am not sure which one of these men is my grandmother's, Uncle Frank Shultz.  Frank Shultz died in 1902, from the disease Typhus at an Army camp in Florida.  Frank was in Company F, 49th Iowa infantry. What I found on Frank says he died in 1902, This information says he mustered out in 1898?  Shultz, Frank. Age 25. Residence Tipton. Enlisted June 21, 1898. Mustered June 21, 1898. Mustered cut May 13, 1899, Savannah, Ga.

This is a photo of soldiers in the Spanish American War. Frank Shultz, is in this photo (not sure which individual) is the brother of my great grandfather, Charles S. Shultz.

Spirit Lake Women: Lulu Smith Hancock, Bessie Groom Turner, Mabel Narey Hartman, and Miss Morton

The back of the postcard says: "Lulu Smith, Bessie Groom, Mabel Nary, and Miss Morton." All of the ladies were single when this photo was taken. Lulu Smith married in 1910, so this photo predates that.

Early Spirit Lake, Iowa Class photos

I just came home with 28 boxes of family memorabilia! I will start with some photos of the Spirit Lake high school class of 1911.

Spirit Lake, Iowa middle school class 1906. This was probably the Class of 1911.

Spirit Lake, Iowa girls basketball team.  My grandmother was finally able to move home from
All Saints Girls School in Sioux Falls, SD.  She is the 4th (smallest) girl from the top.

These are Spirit lake friends of my grandmother.  Gwen Shultz is the second girl from the right.

This is the Spirit Lake Basket Ball team.  My grandmother is the fourth from the left.  Yes, she was the shortest one on the team!

This is the girl's basketball team in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  My grandmother is not included in this photo as it was taken in 1906. when my grandmother was still at All Saints School in Sioux Falls, SD.
