I will start this posting with a caveat. I am not really sure if this photo is of the four Fortner Brothers: Alexander Fortner b. 1843, Isaac Fortner 1849, John Fortner 1852, James B. Fortner 1857. This photo would have been taken about 1872. Until we have more photos to compare this identification may just be wishful thinking on my part.

Here are my reasons:
1. the young man with dark hair, upper right looks like my husband and son.
2. The ages of the young men are consistent with those of the Fortner Brothers.
3. The Ferguson photo studio was very close to Berlin township, the last place where the Fortner's resided before relocating to Republic County, KS
