Binghams of Nebraska: Sarah Jane Cummins Bingham and granddaughter Georgia Belle Bingham

Sarah Jane Cummins Bingham and granddaughter Georgia Belle Bingham

This photo was purchased near Sioux City, Iowa about a year ago. Sarah Jane Cummins Bingham and her Granddaughter Georgia Belle Bingham are the subjects.  Georgia Belle Bingham was born in 1902 in Lincoln, Nebraska the only child of  George A. Bingham and Julia Tondreau. She married Benedict or Ben Bartek who was born in 1896 in Saunders County, Nebraska. Before she died in 1923, Georgia Belle Bingham gave birth to two children; Benjamin in 1922, and Theresa in 1923. Georgia Bell died in 1923, probably of childbirth complications.

Iowa City Wedding: Edward Krall and Celia Bruckner

Edward Krall and his wife Celia Bruckner
I purchased this old photo at an antique store near Sioux City, Iowa.  The photo is identified as "Celia Krall's Wedding) and the photographer's stamp is Newberg, Iowa City, Iowa.

Celia Bruckner and Edward Krall married on 16 Apr 1918 in Iowa City. Edward had been married previously to Julia Rusak and had a son. Both the bride and groom appear to be of Bohemian ancestry.

Soren Peder Hansen and Tomasine Jeson family of Stamford, Jones Co. TX and Danevang, Wharton County, Texas: a pioneer Danish family.

I went shopping this week,! Here is one of my purchases. ancestry. https://ancstry.me/2AIfWkb
The photo  says Soren P. Hansen, who was born in Denmark on 4 January 1885

These two photos both have Soren P. Hansen written with the same handwriting on the reverse of the photo.  The photo below also says Soren P. Hansen.  Is this Soren's Danish family back home, or is it Thomasine's family?  https://ancstry.me/2AIfWkb
The Hansen family moved to Wharton County, Texas, settling in a Danish area called Dannevang, Texas. My plan is to locate a suitable archive for these Danish settlers in that area. If you are interested in information on the Danish settlement I have included the link below: https://tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/hnd04

Abandoned Photo: Windham, Portage County, Ohio: Bernice Ball (1873-1960)

I spent some time walking through Thompson's Antique Mall on 18th Street here in Houston, TX. At one booth I purchased an identified photo of Bernice Ball.  I was able to find and trace the family on the census.  I have added a link to the family tree I created for the Ball family.

Miracle photos : The Germer Family of Boone, Iowa

I purchase old photos from Antique Shops, it's what I do.  More often than not, antique dealers will purchase bundles of items that come from the same estate. However, many times, these photos are not kept together.  I always take the time to go through the entire batch, checking carefully to see if photos come from the same geographic areas.   These two photos were purchased at the Art Asylum in Houston, Texas, which is NOT really an antique store, but an eclectic mix of "stuff". There are tables of old photos that have been removed from their albums, which makes hard to find family groups.   How I was able to find two photos of the same family in the huge pile of photos is a miracle!  So if this is your family, count yourselves lucky!
Photo #1: verso says:  Eddie Gerner

Photo 3:  I used for comparison: person uploading to ancestry GEORGEALBERTWALKER

I want to give a shout out to the person with Ancestry.com user ID: GEORGEALBERTWALKER. I was able to use the photo he so kindly uploaded as a comparison photo.  The photo was probably taken on the same day like the one I purchased. I want to point out I do not own photos 3 & 4.
